Far far away
Far far away - child portrait

This drawing is of my youngest. My outgoing little boy got a quiet side to him what not everyone gets to see. But I finally captured it on camera and I just knew I had to draw it. The joy of art, where you can focus on the important bits and get rid of the distractions.

Sasha
Sascha - Pointer puppy

Just how adorable is this 8 month old puppy ! You can't help but wonder ....just what is she daydreaming about ? Her drawing was commissioned by the same client as "Blue" , the elderly Pointer.

Siblings
Siblings - child portraits

What a thoughtful husband. He commissioned this drawing of their children to his wife as Christmas gift. Quietly sneaking away those precious photos of them without spoiling the surprise.
I believe it was well worth the effort and has now pride of place in the family home.

Apple blossoms

Apple Blossoms

To capture the translucence of those flower petals, to show the light of the spring sunshine touching of them .... that was my mission in this drawing. I believe it worked.

WW1 soldier
WW1 soldier - memorial drawing of a grandfather

This commission bore many challenges because the reference photo was quite old and small. It came all the way from America, back into the possession of the grandchild of the man in the photo. And lets just say, my client is no child himself anymore lol
But it did make me marvel at the technology even at that time. And to see the look at  my clients face when he received it ... it made every minute spent on it worthwhile.

Pippy & Poppy

Pippy & Poppy - the miniature Schnauzer girls

These 2 gorgeous girls truly stole my heart when I meet them for the photo session.
Their portrait was a gift from my client to the owners of them, as a wedding gift. And they love it.
